Opening gates & doors
Answer buzzers and trigger entry from the Intry app.
Overview
When a visitor uses the building intercom, Intry sends a push notification (or a fallback call/SMS if you enabled those). Opening the notification takes you to the Approve / Deny screen.
Approving entry
- Read who is at the door (name or unit visitor info if provided).
- Tap Approve if you recognize the visitor.
- Keep the app open briefly — some buildings need a moment for the strike/magnet to release.
Denying entry
Tap Deny if you do not expect anyone. The visitor hears that the unit declined; the property may still have camera or front-desk policies.
If nothing happens
| Symptom | Try this |
|---|---|
| No notification | Verify notifications are on, focus mode off, Intry updated |
| Approve tapped but door stuck | Retry once; inform front desk if hardware fails |
| “Offline” message | Check cellular/Wi-Fi; some systems require data |
Bluetooth & location
Certain hardware integrations may ask for Bluetooth or location so the system knows you are near the entrance. Denying these permissions can block remote unlock features — read the prompt carefully or ask your property which permissions are required.
