Adding residents

Invites, move-ins, roommates, and move-outs.

Overview

Residents must have a User profile tied to the correct unit and contact information. Intry uses those fields to route buzzer notifications and optional SMS/voice fallbacks.

Standard move-in

  1. Verify lease paperwork for legal name, email, and mobile.
  2. Create or update the user in admin tools.
  3. Send the invite (email/SMS) with the correct unitLabel context.
  4. Confirm the resident completes signup and registers a device (push token).

Roommates & partners

  • Each adult who should receive buzzes needs their own Intry account unless your property policy says otherwise.
  • Link multiple users to the same unit through admin relations — do not share passwords.

Move-out

  1. Revoke or disable the resident account per policy.
  2. Remove or reassign devices.
  3. Update access groups / guest passes so former residents lose entry.

Data hygiene

Always double-check unitLabel before sending invites — miskeys are the top reason residents “never get buzzers.”
